A Conveyor bridge
is manufactured in a lattice construction and have
several advantages compared with traditional belt
conveyors.
The stable construction of conveyor
bridge means that it is
primarily used for conveyors which require large
span widths between the supports. Distances of up to
40 metres are not unusual. This can be compared with
a normal belt conveyor which requires supports about
every 15-20 metres to achieve sufficient stability.
The way the structure is designed in a conveyor
bridge means that several
conveyors can also be positioned either side by side
or on top of each other, or alternatively prepared
for this sort of solution when there is a need to
increase the capacity of the material being
transported.
In addition it is also common that the conveyor
bridge is covered in corrugated sheeting and/or
insulated, which provides protection against wind
and weather and to some extent replaces dust
enclosures. The fact that the conveyor bridge is
usually manufactured at full standing height
facilitates access for servicing and maintenance for
it´s conveyors.
For this reason it is also common to install
compressed air and vacuum cleaner pipes, as well as
sprinklers and lighting in a conveyor bridge.
